Born from the famed barn of Levon Helm in Woodstock, New York, The Weight Band carries on the legacy of one of rock’s most influential groups. Founded by Jim Weider and Randy Ciarlante—both former members of The Band—The Weight Band began by performing “Songs of The Band” alongside Band founder Garth Hudson. What started as a heartfelt tribute has evolved into a powerhouse ensemble dedicated to preserving the soul of Americana music while forging a path of their own.
Joined by the incomparable Brian Mitchell (keyboards, organ, accordion, vocals), Albert Rogers (bass, vocals), Matt Zeiner (keyboards, vocals), and Michael Bram (drums, vocals), The Weight Band is led by Weider’s masterful guitar work and Mitchell’s magnetic presence. Together, they seamlessly blend classics from The Band’s catalog with new, original songs that echo its roots, yet speak to today’s audience.
With deep respect for the past and a bold embrace of the future, The Weight Band doesn’t just pay homage to The Band—they extend its spirit into a new generation of listeners.
