Raw emotion, soulful melodies, and deep grooves come together in a concert experience that celebrates one of America’s most enduring musical traditions—the power and legacy of the blues.
Led by acclaimed pianist Dr. Zachary Bartholomew, this performance explores the profound influence the blues has had on jazz, from its early roots in the Mississippi Delta to its electrifying presence in modern improvisation. The program features a rich variety of blues-based jazz works, including music by Horace Silver, Thelonious Monk, Wynton Kelly, and Oscar Peterson, as well as Bartholomew’s own original compositions that honor the form while pushing its boundaries.
Expect a night of deep swing, fiery solos, and storytelling through sound. This isn’t just a concert, it’s a journey through a musical language that shaped jazz and continues to speak to audiences across generations.
Don’t miss this electrifying celebration of rhythm, resilience, and the blues at Arts Bonita.
